facilities

We are very fortunate to have great facilities in St.Colman’s. As part of the amalgamation in 2010, four new classrooms, school hall and office were added. The school now comprises of 12 classrooms, PE hall, computer room and learning support rooms. We have two yards, one for the juniors and one for our seniors. Have a look below at some images.

Computer Room

We have a lovely computer room with 21 computers which the children can use to research projects and to type up stories, letters and poems. This is an extremely popular and our students really enjoy the opportunity to get online.

Music

This room is also used for our weekly drumming sessions that take place as part of our music programme.

Classrooms

We have 12 classrooms in our school. 8 rooms from the original Scoil Aonghusa Scoil and four that were added on in 2010 during the school extension. All classrooms are well resourced and offer the optimum learning environment for our students. Make sure to visit during the upcoming parent mornings in the next couple of months.

Yard

Our yard consists of a junior yard for Junior Infants and a senior yard for the older children. We also have a grass area where senior classes can play football, weather permitting. During big lunch, children can use equipment such as hula hoops, skipping ropes and balls.

Mindfulness

Mrs. O’Donnell leads us in mindfulness, where the children practice meditating, and finding a few moments to be still and become more aware of their breathing and their bodies. They use blankets, mind jars and calming music to focus themselves.
